Tarot has so many layers and can be such a useful tool for personal development and self-exploration.
I still occasionally meet people that think that tarot is spooky or negative in some way, likely because it contains the ‘devil’ and ‘death’ cards, which can be misunderstood but aren’t to be feared at all!
Far from being spooky, the tarot uses archetypes, symbolism and correspondences to create a language that speaks to our subconscious and intuition.
We can use the story of ‘The Fool’s Journey’ and the court cards depicted in the traditional Rider-Waite-Colman deck to mirror aspects of our own life story and help us uncover the hidden blocks and storylines we tell ourselves.
Often we’ve forgotten and no longer hear the stories we’ve told ourselves we just feel them in our body as tension, anxiety, stress, dis-ease etc.
Tarot can reflect those hidden parts, patterns and stories back to us and give us starting points for untangling and exploration with curiosity and kindness.
I like emphasising the ‘divine’ aspect of ‘divination’ – communing with the ‘divine’ whatever form that takes for you, tapping into your inner/innate divine and wisdom, your inner goddess, Buddha Nature, higher self etc. One of the roots of the word divination/divine means ‘to shine’ – so tarot can help us illuminate our shadow and unseen parts.
I rarely post about tarot on social media, as for a while it would only bring out the spammers and scammers, but I’ve been learning and working with the cards on off for nearly 15 years now!
I mostly only offer distance Tarot readings as I prefer to work with meditation and journeying techniques when reading for others, but do use Tarot and various oracle cards with Reiki Drum sessions/teaching.
