Reiki Is…

This is a poem/short audio guided meditation practice that I wrote for my Reiki teaching sessions. It is intended to help Reiki students connect to the essence of Reiki as universal lifeforce energy – also known as prana/chi/source – the formless, energetic essence of everything, which underlies the practice of Reiki.

At level 1, Reiki is a meditative practice of self-healing that connects us to the energy that is around us/is us, and in level 2 it teaches us how work with frequencies of energy that are earthy and grounding, airy/spacious, connecting and centring, via the use of symbols. I’ve included the text below as well as an audio track featuring ‘De-stress – Angel Dreams’ by Jonathan Goldman in the background.

Reiki Is…

From Reiki 
We become Reiki.
From Reiki all is born.
To Reiki we return.

Reiki is the sun, the moon and the stars,
Reiki is the Earth and all that we are.
Reiki is the water, and all that flows,
Reiki is the air and the breeze that blows.

Reiki is the highest vibration of love.
Reiki is the Earth below 
And the cosmos above.
Reiki is every plant, every leaf, every drop of rain,
Reiki is in our greatest joy and our deepest pain.

Because Reiki is universal life-force energy, 
Reiki is openness, responsiveness, pure sensitivity,
Reiki is all that we are and more,
Reiki is what we are to become,
Reiki is what we were before.

Reiki is the essence, the path and the practice. 
Reiki gives but also asks of us.
Reiki is always for the highest good,
Reiki as practice works just as Reiki should.

Reiki can be trusted where it flows,
Reiki travels where our loving attention goes.
May Reiki guide us back home to connection. 
To healing as wholeness, through our highest intention.
