Usui Reiki Level 1 for self-healing is the first stage of the Reiki training and offers a firm foundation in the principles of Reiki, its history, how to begin to connect to Reiki and teaches Reiki’s self-healing techniques. At its essence, Reiki is meditation, but uses specific intention and connection to ‘universal life force energy’ – reiki – also known as chi/qi or prana.
My training is now taught over 1 day, enabling the students to get straight into the practical elements of Reiki 1, supported by guided meditations available after the day and a very comprehensive manual covering what is taught and how to take the teachings deeper with practise. Students still receive four attunements/transmissions and students will receive their Reiki 1 manual/handbook and certificate at the end of the day.
Please read this explanation all about the attunement process from the manual before the day. This will help us get onto the first attunement early on the training day.
When I teach Reiki I incorporate my years of experience studying and practising in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition as well as from training as a shamanic drum practitioner, so my manuals and teaching include exercises and information about deepening our sense of wholeness and interconnectedness to nature. This isn’t traditionally taught as in depth as this in Reiki 1, but I believe it creates stronger and deeper foundations for the Reiki practitioner, especially for those students who go on to train with me to Level 2, Shamanic Reiki Drum and beyond.
Reiki 1 can be taught upstairs in a lovely therapy space at The Very Healthy Shop, on The Shambles in the centre of Worcester where I usually see clients. I can arrange teachings on a week day or on a Saturday. There are plenty of car parks nearby but there is an obviously a charge for all day parking. I can also arrange to teach at a private space if ground floor access requirements are needed.
I only teach 1:1 or in small groups of 2 or 3 people. The day usually start at 10am and runs up to 4-4.30pm (If there’s more than one student the day runs slightly longer to accommodate multiple attunements. Students will need to bring a packed lunch (or are welcome to pop out for lunch nearby) but hot drinks and water are provided.
